As we say hello to a brand new year, I wanted to share some hopeful verses from the Book of Revelation, chapter 21. After a vision of a new heaven and a new earth, including the new Jerusalem, the Apostle John recorded the following for our benefit:
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” (v.5)
Everything new. Everything. New. That sounds really good to me. And if you’ve experienced any amount of brokenness or bad news in 2010, I suspect it sounds good to you, too. Yes, the notion, no, the promise of “everything new” is full of hope, isn’t it? And, yet, we are not there . . . yet.
In fact, there may be many more miles to travel and traverse before that time comes. Still, my heart thrills to know there will come a time when “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
I don’t know what’s in store for 2011, but it’s a brand new year full of new possibilities and new dreams – a year that brings us one step closer to everything new.
By the way, God also gave very specific instructions to John that day: “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Thank you, John. Thank You, God. Here’s to great things in 2011!
Takin’ Him at His Word,
Cheri

Hi Cheri
Love this area of scripture and everything new. On Dec 3rd I fell while adjusting the stage lights at the coffee house and cracked my noggin pretty good on the cement floor and 48 hours later Camille went in for a hysterectomy – we are ready for all things new! We have been praying Rev 22:20 ESCLJ “Even So Come Lord Jesus!” Could happen at any time! ANyway thanks for the encouragement and buckets of love and showers of blessings!
